Students of ridge school visited an old age home on the outskirts of the city on wednesday and spent a day with elders on the occasion of Nelson Mandela International Day. School Principal said that this visit was a heart touching experience for the students to spend time with elderly listening to their woes.
“The inmates of old age home are very hospitable and friendly. They welcomed the students and their teachers with smile , ” he said. The Principal said that the students tried to break the monotomy of their lives by interacting with them and a group sang songs for them. The students donated provisions, fruits and money to the inmates.
Organiser of Shiridi Sai Old Age Home B.Srinivasulu was over-whelmed and said that the children had come with a noble intention and enthusiasm and their experience would have a lasting impact on their young minds to be more compassionate to fellow beings.
The children shared their experience adding that they realised that love for their family, particularly their grand parents had grown profoundly. The children were accompanied by their Principal, School Teachers Shabana, Vinodini, Srinivasulu, Nagendra and others.
