Life Skills Education

The CBSE introduced the CCE in October 2009 wherein Life Skills were to be assessed. The CBSE also felt that schools should help develop Life Skills in children. These skills are essential abilities that help promote positive behavior in individuals to deal with the challenges of everyday life.

Ridge School believes in following:

CBSE instructions and felt the need to develop various Life Skills in the students. These include self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, effective communication, inter personal relationships and coping with stress and emotions. The Life Skills Education Programme is conducted as an integral part of the curriculum once a week for the students by various nodal teachers.

ORATOR’S CLUB :

In order to develop public speaking skills, the ‘Orator’s Club’ was formed. The students of class 9 and 10 are trained once a week.

ADOLESCENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME (AEP) :

The Government of India has taken a decision to implement the ADOLESCENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME (AEP) in all secondary school. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented the AEP in all independent schools affiliated to it since 2005.

The AEP is an attempt to impart accurate and adequate knowledge about the process of growing up with a focus on reproductive and sexual health in its biological, psychological and socio-cultural dimensions, emotional health and coping with life skills.
